Emmalyn Shaw, Director – Internet/New Media, joined Oak in 2008 where she focuses on investments in the consumer Internet and digital media sector.

Emmalyn currently is an active board observer for FRS, AdKeeper, Federated Media and Thrillist. Emmalyn served as a board observer for Huffington Post (acquired by AOL), Demand Media (NYSE: DMD), Bleacher Report (acquired by Turner). Emmalyn also works closely with several other Oak portfolio companies including Razor Gator and Zumobi.

Prior to joining Oak, Emmalyn spent 8 years in venture capital and served as Vice President at VantagePoint Venture Partners where she invested in the Internet and software sectors. Notable investments include Intermix/myspace (sold to Fox Interactive) and Inxight Software (sold to BOBJ). Prior to VantagePoint, Emmalyn was an Associate at The Barksdale Group, where she worked on several early-stage software and Internet investments including TellMe Networks (sold to MSFT), Neoteris (sold to NSCN/JNPR), and Crossgain (sold to BEA). Additionally, she worked as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley in the Corporate Finance Technology Group where she executed several public and private equity offerings. Emmalyn began her career as a Product Manager for a portfolio management software company, Barra. She received her MBA from The Wharton School of Business and earned her BA in economics and minor in mathematics and philosophy from the University of California at Berkeley, where she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
